The show, which was taken off air in 2008, has impacted not only the minds of fans, but filmmakers too. As a result, M. Night Shyamalan, one of the most famous sci-fi filmmakers, has come out with a film called, The Last Airbender. The story of the film is similar to Avatar The Last Airbender episodes of the first season.
Earlier, the title of the film was kept same, but to avoid confusion with the film ‘Avatar’, the name was changed to The Last Airbender.
Making the film based on an animated show is bringing the animated character to life. That’s going to be more real, human and can be enjoyed with more fun.
Coming back to the animated series, the show has also tried its hand on video games. In 2006, the video game called, Avatar: The Last Airbender, was released. Later Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Burning Earth and Avatar: The Last Airbender – Into the Inferno, were released on October 16, 2007 and October 13, 2008 respectively. All the games were based on Avatar The Last Airbender episodes of season one, two and three.
Along with the film, now a book will be also seen in the market soon. The title Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Art of the Animated Series, which has 184 pages, will talk of the talent and formation of the animated series. The book is presented by Dark Horse Comics, and will be launched on June 2, 2010.
It’s good to know, that one of the favorite shows of children and youngsters, is doing well everywhere and in everything. The success of the show has been credited with 11 awards and five nominations. It is also believed, that the upcoming film, which is based on Avatar The Last Airbender episodes, will be successful as well.
